We would like to welcome to the fleet Utility 1691. Built by Danko Emergency Equipment of Snyder Nebraska, this unit will fill several the rolls for the company. The utility will respond along side EMS on medical incidents, as part of the North Whitehall Rescue Team and in support of our fire ground operations.
The simple design allows for maximum versatility, because in the fire service we are asked to do many jobs. The Utility will be a licenced Quick Response Vehicle by the PA Dept. of Health which means it will carry much of the same equipment as a BLS ambulance. It's nimble size will prove an asset in places like the PA Turnpike, where it can navigate tight spaces our township rescue truck would not be able to go. The open bed is equally able to haul wet hose back from a fire or Sparky the Fire Dog to his next fire prevention and community risk reduction event. The crew cab can safely and comfortably transport five firefighters. Drawing on relationships developed over our last few apparatus purchases we are confident that the new utility will serve our area for decades to come.
